Unleash

Where the heck is Anderson, SC?

And why would you want to go there considering they don’t have a Starbucks?

Let me fill you in.

Perry Noble has become a dear friend of mine over the last couple of years. He’s been a huge encouragement to Chris and me and has prayed for us and helped us think through my recent transition into full time writing. I have seen him literally weep for people to come to know Christ, I’ve met his wife and his daughter and seen what an amazing family guy he is…and he stinking loves Cracker Barrel almost as much as we do.

Perry is the pastor of a church called NewSpring Church and it’s in Anderson, SC. Every year, the staff and members of NewSpring hold a gathering called Unleash for other church leaders to learn and grow with each other. I went last year and if hearing Perry’s heart and praying for our pastors as a huge group weren’t enough, the chance to interact with so many lovely people was worth more than the price of admission.

And that is why you should know where Anderson, SC is and why you should be there on March 4th.

I’m planning on being at Unleash this year and I wanted to make sure you knew about it too. Plus if you’re going, I’d love to meet up. It’s dirt cheap, and the even cheaper $59 early bird rate ends in a few weeks, it’s sold out every year, and it would be a tragedy if you didn’t make it. You can register here.

Have you been to Unleash? Are you planning on going this year?

  1. I went last year and saw Anne Jackson in the hall. Totally worth the registration fee. :)

Seriously…incredible “conference” for the money. You will be inspired.

  2. Sheesh, that sounds fun. I’m not even a fan of Starbucks (I think I just like saying that because of all the controversy it creates), so that’s not a problem. :>)

I’ve only recently discovered Perry Noble, and I’d love to hang with everyone else who’s going (I’ve heard from a few others too). The trouble isn’t the $59 – it’s the getting there IN MARCH.

Thanks for the heads up, though, Anne.

I have a question too: I think I saw some video of this from last year online, but I’m not sure. Do you know if they record this and put it online afterward (or did they)? “Unleash” sounds like a fairly common, “Christiany” word, though, so it might have been something else.

  5. Went the first year and really liked it, skipped a year and then went again last year.

It is worth the money, not to mention meeting people face to face that you have only talked to or had twitter conversations was awesome.

I will probably be back this year.

  6. Been there and loved it! Haven’t been to unleash but let me tell you, a normal Sunday is anything but normal! It is all about the gospel, all the time – with really inspiring praise thrown in. Too bad we live so far away… but I have gone to their web campus on Sundays we can’t make it to church when kids are sick.
