I am tempted to say you are more of a man then I am, but that just makes it awkward (I guess I said it anyways)
But glad to hear that you are not just sitting on your butt and doing nothing but sitting on a bike and doing something.

  6. Girl, you have hit the BIG TIME. Just think, you will ride where Don Miller rode last summer! Awesome!!! JK, the most awesome thing is that you are physically able to do this now and the amazing work that the organization accomplishes through this tour. Can’t wait to follow…

  10. Yay! I am soooo excited for you! I’ve been praying about applying for this summer’s tour :) I want to go!!!!

  11. Start thinking now about the stop in Tyler, TX. I promise you’ll rest comfortably on your very own air mattress. If you’re lucky you’ll get the bed with the matching pink comforter and sheets! We’ll try our best to make this stop the most comfortable on the entire tour. Tyler loves the RideWell cyclists. We’ve hosted the last two tours in our high school gym. We look forward to seeing the 2010 team ride into town!

  12. Hopefully I’ll be joining you.

  19. Anne,
Just curious – is this the same ride that Don Miller talks about in his newest book, “A Million Miles” …? (if you’ve read it?)

  20. Congratulations, Anne! I’m glad you decided to go for it! It is definitely a worth while experience and one you wont soon forget. It’s about as real as “real life” gets, heh. If I could give you any heads up, let it be this. Get a good saddle!

  21. Sounds cool! Wanted to do something like this before I turned 50. Didn’t make it. Sounds to me though as though anne Jackson may find herself in a gym this winter or riding when it is cold? :) Wish I could go.

  25. Way excited for you Anne!

I made the mistake of reading A Million Miles while I was flying to Chicago for Story 09. Not only did I read the book but then I heard Donald Miller speak at the conference. The conviction/confusion/desperate hope about my life is something I’m still sorting through.

I want a better story for my own life. I printed out the Ride:Well info and put it on my prayer board. I can’t imagine a worse idea than me cycling across the country, but there’s something inside that is pushing me to live a better story. I’m going to pray about going.

I don’t have a bike, the money or a way to get 2 months off work, but I’m going to ask God if this is Him. If it is, I’ll see you in San Diego!

I’ll be praying for you, Anne. So glad we got to talk for a few minutes in Chicago. Be blessed, in Jesus’ name.

  26. I road bike from time to time. But 3100 miles is a long way! The farthest I’ve gone in a day is 130 miles. Have a blast out there! I would love to do this some year. I’m pretty sure I could do it… just not at this point in my life.

Can’t wait to hear about this adventure next summer!

  28. It sounds like another great part of you “living a better story.” As Donald Miller suggests. I’m looking forward to partnering with you financially when you do your ride. That’s a killer organization… and it’s amazing what a difference the work they do makes in the lives of the people they help. You ROCK!

  29. Please consider riding for Waters Edge Ministries. We do water purification in Africa and for half the money of digging a well we can empower rather than provide clean water to twice as many people!
