My Roach story is about.... A company i worked for in 2005 was upgrading audio speakers and amplifiers at Disney land Ca. while working behind the scenes and in the attic spaces of your favorite rides, I've seen the hugest Dinosaur/Alien in Nature Cockroaches. The attics have light switches at every hatch opening, and whenever we would first hit the light switch you would see these huge 3 to 4 inch cockroaches run full speed into there hiding places. You could even hear them run that how big these things were. I'm sure they have plenty of food, water and nesting ground to grow in that size, i swear... no lie, they were gigantic. I remember they would peek at us like Vampires that were afraid to be exposed to the light with their legs that reminded me of uncooked spaghetti noodles in color. Ewwwww!!!! Sometimes we would walk in the attics with are head lamps off, sit for a minute, and then click our lights back on, and we would be surrounded by them as if they were gonna feast on us. True story.....this was in Fantasy land.

I still store my drinking glasses upside down in the cupboard - even though I now live in Canada and we don't have cockroaches in our house! After living in southern California where we had a regular pest control plan, I learned to store everything upside down or with the lid on.

I haven't read the book... but I can imagine. If I really viewed everything that doesn't not pertain to my calling and purpose as if it was a cockroach... I think I'd get a lot more done. (And I likely wouldn't be leaving a comment on blogs in the middle of the day - even though this seems to be a very good one to leave comments one!)

When I think of cockroaches, I think of the show about the exterminators and how they go around and have so much fun getting rid of pests.

DeMo’s last blog post..Beware of the Cherokee Casino

I'm a recruiter in Charleston, SC and candidates actually ask me "so...I hear you have big roaches down there..is it true?" I don't believe in lying about it, so I say "Yep, and we also have big cans of Raid and great exterminators! Come anyway, we'll lament them at the beach with a mojito."

one of the most disgusting experiences i've ever had was working in a deli in new york--opening early the day after the exterminator came--SWEEPING thousands of roaches away before the first customer came in--good times--haven't thought of that one in YEARS!!!
