October 4, 2007  |  Uncategorized

again, thank you all for your support. also you lurkers who have sent me emails – thank you. sometimes i hear the words, “i’ve gone through that too – what you’ve said means so much to me” and now i am the one getting the emails from people sharing that they have been through this before, allowing me to have the “me too” moment. so, thank you for sharing your stories of peace, healing, and restoration.

i thought we’d come up for some air and have a little fun. chris bought a new cd and it had a coupon for three free iTunes songs in it.

  1. i’d recommend at least one from the 70’s – 80’s…maybe journey’s separate ways or don’t stop believin, or the eagles.

    i like needtobreathe…

  2. “Everything” by Lifehouse

  3. Michael – I loooooove Journey.

Christa – Actually that song has been listened to about a billion times this week. It has been so perfect for life right now…great song!

  4. What did Chris get???

I think you should definitely get this song!…

“Save You” by Matthew Perryman Jones

    also consider:

    “Blue Eyes” by Rogue Wave

“Brothers on a Hotel Bed” by Death Cab for Cutie

“Embracing Accusations” by Shane and Shane

“Hold You In My Arms” by Ray LaMontagne (or anything from Trouble!)

  5. Anything from Kendall Payne. I particularly like:

    “Pray”
    “Aslan”
    “Perfect by Thursday”
    “Stand”
    and
    “Modern Day Moses”

  6. i think you should get….

Aaron Sprinkle – Sweeter than me

Hanson – Great Divide (i am serious, though i probably dont seem it, am a huge Hanson fan and LOVE their new album.)

John Mark McMillan – Kiss your feet

anything by Regina Spektor or Tegan and Sara or Xavier Rudd

  7. if you don’t already have it… anything off the new Crowder project (“Remedy”).

There’s a tune on there called “Everything Glorious”… the lyrics on the chorus really struck a chord w/ me…

“You make everything glorious… and I am yours… what does that make me?”

  8. dude, i was going to say “Everything” also. so good. :)

i know you’re not into contemporary Christian very much but one song i’ve really been fed by is “Lead me to the Cross” – Hillsong. ahh so good.

anything East Village Opera Company (2nd Album)

  9. The new Foo Fighters album is sweet. If you like Foo Fighters….

  10. I’d go for either classic rock or Motown hits.

And for an interesting mix of the two genres, you can go with Michael McDonald (of the Doobie Brothers) singing Motown classics on his last two CD’s…

  11. apologize by OneRepublic
    you MUST get this song

  12. I love you You love me
    we’re a happy family
with a great big hug and a kiss from me to you.
won’t you say you love me too

    and

This is the song that never ends.
It goes on and on my friends.
Someone started singing it not knowing what it was,
and they’ll continue singing it forever just because…

    and

Dale a tu cuerpo alegria Macarena
Que tu cuerpo es pa’ darle alegria y cosa buena
Dale a tu cuerpo alegria Macarena
    Ehhhh, Macarena

Playing these songs back to back to back is the ultimate form of relaxation. TRUST ME!!

    ;-) ;-)

  13. Knee Deep – Funkadelic/Parliment
The Humpty Dance – Digital Underground
Deeper Shade of Soul – Urban Dance Squad

    since you’re having fun

  14. I’ve been stuck on this one for awhile. Anything off Sarah Jahn’s Sparkle CD.

  15. Shipwreck – Starfield
Foo Fighters New Album (it’s all awesome)
Daft Punk is pretty sweet, too.

  16. Windowsill – Arcade Fire
    Savin Me – Nickelback
some Pink Floyd ‘Dark Side of the Moon’

  17. I am thinking classics. The ones that take us way back ….

Achy-Breaky Heart – Billy Ray Cyrus
    Macarena – Los Del Rio
    Jump, Jump – Kriss Kross

    LOL!

  18. A few for the Foo

    A few for the Macarena

    I’m in trouble…

  19. Boy With A Coin-Iron & Wine
Your English Is Good-Tokyo Police Club
    Crank That-Soulja Boy

two good songs and a party favorite.

  20. i’ve been diggin “The Bravery” and David Crowders’s new CD.

  21. “Breathe Me” by Sia
    “Lovely” by Michelle Tumes
    “Girl America” by Mat Kearney

  22. Matthew Perryman Jones used to be my church’s worship leader! It made me happy to see someone mention him!

I got a Blindside song on iTunes years ago that isn’t on any of their albums. It’s now one of the most-played songs on my iPod. It’s called “I Know Why You Dress In Black.”

  23. Okay so I am biased but Manchester Orchestra is pretty cool. They were just on David Letterman, they are young and if you can understand any of the lyrics:) explore a lot of questions of spirituality. Honest stuff. And the drummer happens to be my little bro who gets married on Sat:) Check it out!

  24. well, at first I was going to mention everything by lifehouse too! i love it!

but, now that the humpty dance was mentioned I’m going with that…..

  25. Dissolved Girl by Massive Attack
    Aces High by Iron Maiden
    Volaré by Gipsy Kings

  26. The Memphis Train – Rufus Thomas
    Politk Kills – Manu Chao
Anthem (Antediluvian Adaptation) – Christian Scott

  27. song/artist:

    Drama Queen/Switches

  28. Hmm, I just tried to post this and it didn’t work!

“Her Dress so Green in the Moonlight” by Pete Krebs and the Gossamer Wings

    or

    “Floating in Space” by Spiritualized.

    Soothing and relaxing. Gorgeous.

  29. If you don’t have any Robbie Seay Band, then definitely consider them.
