my struggle with lust
April 18, 2007  |  Uncategorized

when i was a kid, i wanted a 1993 teal camaro. when i was 16, i wanted a bright yellow ford ranger pick up (i am texan you know). but when i was 19, i was introduced to the most beautiful car in the world – the 1970 mercedes 280SL roadster convertible. there are several other years that look similar to the 1970, but there is something just lucious about this car.

car

i saw one (a white one) while chris and i were out in sundance square over the weekend. instant lust. my eyes could not be removed from its hard, flawless body or the way the sun sparkled in its headlamps. my pulse increased just a little bit and i felt my palms getting sweaty.

what’s your dream car?

  1. that’s disturbing. haha.

  2. ’69 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible….Jet Black

  3. I’m driving it. Seriously. The car I always planned to have someday when I got to buy exactly what I wanted, was a white four-door Honda Accord. It’s only missing a sunroof, but I can deal. I’m just really fortunate compared to some, because I got my dream car when I was 19.

So, now, the car of my dreams is a really, really, really big van. Because, the only reason I will have to get a big van is that I will have either a band or a family to transport.

Maybe both. I mean, today’s woman can have it all, right?

  4. A volkswagen type III notchback or fastback from the 60′s.

  5. F-150 Lariat Crew Cab 4X4

  6. I still don’t get the whole pick up thing?!
I don’t hanker after a car, its a bike and not one of those hogs that don’t go round corners, a Triumph Speed Triple is what I long for

  7. A car that will not wear out or lose the new car smell or depreciate or have a payment and runs on the trash I generate at home instead of gasoline. Ohh…and avoids back-ups on LBJ and doesn’t get in wrecks and has an autopilot so I can read a book…this could also be a truck….

  8. One that works and has AC

oh and a Ferrari 360 Spider

  9. So, my first car (and first love) was a 1965 Ford Falcon! It was red, with a white stripe. Of course there were dice hanging from the rearview mirror. Air conditioning consisted of turning the wind-wings windows inwards. It sat 9 comfortably. Oh, and the smell of old cars!

I am now a mommy of 3 and taxi a mini-van. I dream of being that young girl in my sassy Falcon. Maybe again someday when the kiddos out grow the taxi :-)
